Dr. Ronald S. Weiss is a board-certified ophthalmologist and founder of Chicago Eye Consultants. He is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataracts, diabetic eye care, glaucoma, and other medical and surgical eye disorders. His expertise is cataract surgery. As one of the busiest cataract surgeons in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Weiss performs complicated cataract surgeries, often referred by other ophthalmologists, and incorporates the latest technology and premium implants on qualified candidates.
Dr. Weiss received his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago and is a proud member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has an academic appointment at Rush University Medical School where he teaches and performs surgery with the ophthalmology residents. Dr. Weiss is also Chairman of Ophthalmology at MacNeal Hospital. Dr. Weiss has been with the practice since the early 90’s. In 2006 Dr. Weiss changed the name and founded Chicago Eye Consultants as a result of the growth into a multispecialty practice, including optical.
